This unique Tibetan Buddhist amulet
for protection from the
Bouddhanath
Stupa in Nepal contains the mantra of Manjushri:
"OM A
RA PA TSA NA DHIHM "
The mantra has been stamped on
paper, immersed in saffron water,
folded and
wrapped in silk thread and blessed by a Tibetan Buddhist
Lama.
Manjushri, the eldest Bodhisattva,
is the
embodiment of Enlightment and grants wisdom, composure,
intelligence, inspiration, strong
memory, mental
well-being and eloquence. In his right-hand he holds the flaming
sword of wisdom
and light that destroys ignorance. His left hand holds the stem of a blue
lotus flower that supports the Book of Perfect Wisdom.
(Pranjaparamita or the Heart Sutra)
It is widely
assumed that reciting Manjushris
mantra OM
A RA PA TSA NA DHIH increases wisdom and provides
clarity. DHIH,
the seedsyllable of the mantra is being recited with more emphasis and a few times repeated
with an increase in loudness (decrescendo).
The amulet can
be worn around the neck or carried in a handbag or purse. You can also put it in a special place in
your home, office or car like above the door or under a pillow.
