This unique Tibetan Buddhist amulet for protection from the Bouddhanath Stupa in
Nepal contains the mantra of
Vajrapani:
"OM
VAJRAPANI HUM"
The mantra has been stamped on
paper, immersed in saffron water,
folded and
wrapped in silk thread and blessed by a Tibetan Buddhist
Lama.
Vajrapani is the
Bodhisattva of Infinite Power and
Energy.
He symbolizes
the strength and vitality of the enlightened energy
to fight
ignorance, greed, fear and other delusions.
In his right
hand he holds the Vajra (Thunderbolt) the symbol
of spiritual
awakening which emphasizes the power to cut through
the darkness
of deception. His
left hand makes the Tarjani Mudra
(threatening
gesture) to overcome hindrances and obstacles.
Vajrapani
looks fierce but as an emanation of the enlightened spirit,
he is entirely
free from hatred.
It is widely
assumed that reciting Vajrapanis mantra
OM
VAJRAPANI HUM connects us to our own
inner
powers and
courage.
The amulet can
be worn around the neck or carried in a handbag or purse. You can also put it in a special place in
your home, office or car like above the door or under a pillow.
