This unique Tibetan Buddhist amulet
for protection from the Bouddhanath Stupa in Nepal contains the mantra of White
Tara:
"OM
TARE TUTTARE TURE MAMA AYUH PUNYE JNANAN
PUSHTIM KURU
SVAHA"
The mantra has been stamped on
paper, immersed in saffron water,
folded and
wrapped in silk thread and blessed by a Tibetan Buddhist Lama.
White Tara, female Bodhisattva of Longevity
was born from a tear of Avalokitesvara. White Tara grants long life and is called
upon when suffering from life threatening diseases. She has seven eyes: two regular
eyes, the third
eye, two eyes in her palms and two eyes on the soles of her
feet. With these
seven eyes she can observe with clear wisdom and compassion all sentient beings in the Six
Realms (the realm of Men, the realm of the Gods, the realm of the
Half Gods, the Animal Kingdom, the realm of the Hungry Ghosts and The
Underworld).
It is widely
assumed that reciting White Taras mantra
OM
TARE TUTTARE TURE MAMA AYUH PUNYE JNANAN PUSHTIM
KURU
SVAHA has healing effects on ones body and prolongs ones life
as well as the life of other human beings.
The amulet can
be worn around the neck or carried in a handbag or purse. You can also put it in a special place in
your home, office or car like above the door or under a pillow.
